We hope that you’ll recognize that West End Orthodontics is a special place. Since we moved to Richmond’s West End, we have been fortunate enough to develop a team of closely knit members with one goal in mind: making your experience at West End Orthodontics fun, relaxing and easy.
We simply all love our jobs and it shows!
About Dr. Iuorno
Dr. Iuorno earned his Bachelors of Arts in Computer Science in 1990 from Hamilton College in Clinton, New York, close to where he grew up. He received his DDS from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1994 and was elected to the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society.
After dental school, Dr. Iuorno completed a 1-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the Eastman Dental Center in Rochester New York. He moved to Richmond in 1995 and completed a unique combination of residencies at Virginia Commonwealth University, earning certification in both Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (2000) and Orthodontics (2002), and making him uniquely qualified to treat complex cases. He received his Masters of Science degree in 2002.
Dr. Iuorno teaches at VCU School of Dentistry and also donates his time as an oral surgeon at the Goochland Free Clinic. One of his passions is treatment of children with special needs like cleft lip and palate. He is a founding member of the Dental Specialty Consultants of Virginia (DSCVA) and serves as the only orthodontist on The Cleft and Craniofacial Team at St. Mary’s.
If you look up Dr. Iuorno in the phone book, you may find his brother Joe or his wife Maria. Dr. Joe Iuorno practices ophthalmology in the West End and Dr. Maria Iuorno is an endocrinologist with Virginia Diabetes and Endocrinology in the West End.
The West End Ortho Team
Marty is one of WEO’s finest assets. She is the office manager and our insurance coordinator. She is also an orthodontic assistant! Her sparkling personality and warm smile are always remembered as people often ask for her by name years after treatment. Come visit and Marty will be there.
Tadiana came to WEO via Colombia, South America. She was originally trained as a dentist in South America and completed her studies before coming to the USA. Unfortunately, her dental license is not recognized by the US. We were lucky enough to meet Tadi and further her education in orthodontics. WEO is now proud to have another perhaps over-qualified orthodontic assistant.
Lisa seems to be well-known throughout the West End! She is coming back to work after raising two boys and we‘re delighted that she chose to come to work for us. Lisa shares time with Vicki at the front desk so you’re sure to get to know her throughout treatment. Ask about her Pennsylvania roots and it‘s likely that you’ll come up with a mutual friend soon enough.
We are fortunate to have Kimberly join our team at WEO as an Orthodontic Assistant. She enjoys working in the orthodontic field because it gives her the opportunity for more one-on-one time with patients. She loves watching how much our patients grow during their treatment and seeing the confidence they have with their new smiles.
